South Africa is set to be banned from playing international cricket

 


The Johannesburg (Monitoring Desk) team is likely to be banned from playing international cricket in South Africa. The government minister informed the ICC in advance about the government's interference in the affairs of the cricket board.On the other hand, the International Cricket Council is monitoring the situation.The spokesperson said that we have received a letter from the Sports Minister. At present, they are monitoring the situation. No complaint has been received from the board itself regarding government interference.

On the other hand, the forensic audit report submitted by the board was declared unilateral by the parliamentary committee and it was clarified that it was an attempt to save the rest of the officials, therefore a full investigation has been called for. Sports Minister Nathi Methitheva said government intervention was inevitable due to widespread mismanagement of cricket in South Africa. The move has been notified to the ICC in advance. It is to be noted that under ICC rules, South Africa's funds for cricket can be withheld due to government interference and participation in international competitions will also be banned.
